Hey friends!
We're currently recording a new album with the tentative title Posies. After working with Daniel Stringer & Maxwell Drummey (X Ambassadors, Lauryn Hill, Chester French) as producers on the first record, Daisies, we just couldn't wait to get back at it. An entirely new batch of songs were written between November 2012 and April 2013 with the idea of fitting them together on a new record and at the beginning of April, Katie, Dan and I went to Max's Home Studio in Burbank to begin laying the foundations.
In late May, Max came to New York where Katie and I went to Eastern Long Island to continue working on the album Posies. Beginning of June was mainly spent on vocal production with us concentrating on keeping our lyrical content focused from song to song as well as in keeping with the general theme of the album. During July, Daniel Stringer, Max and the rest of the band will meet for 2 weeks to finish off the rest of the record. By Mid-Late July we will have a rough version of the record to listen to for another week before making final edits.
Hopefully this record shows a maturity as a band from Daisies, in a musical, lyrical and structural sense. I hope very much that these songs translate as I envision them, which is smarter, cleaner, and more straightforward in the sense that I want as many people to be able to relate the emotions we are trying to relay to our audience in both our songs and live performances.
